I got sentimental watching it happen live on TV, as parliament was in session and the formal separation of Kosovo from Serbia began on Sunday. Hundreds of people were in Times Square only hours later, jubilant and some in disbelief. It was a scene that brought me back to the former province, when Kosovo had won a boxing match last year-- cars speeding, honking, and flags absolutely everywhere you turned-- except now they had a seeming life time to celebrate. (Krenar, as I told you... wished with all my heart I was there). And now for the consequences that were inevitable, with the attacks on several foreign embassies in Belgrade and on the border, let's hope the situation doesn't get any worse.
